My son used to have meltdowns during transitions. After using MusicASD's transition music for just two weeks, he now asks for his 'changing song' himself. It's incredible.
The sensory profile feature is a game-changer. It understood that Emma needs slower tempos and avoided the instruments that trigger her. No other app does this.
As a volunteer working with ASD users, I've seen how music calms them. MusicASD makes it easy to find the right music for each user without years of training.
We're two high school students united by a simple belief: technology should make therapy accessible, not exclusive.
MusicASD was founded by two high school students united by a shared mission to make music therapy accessible to every family affected by autism.
Jerry Fang: Music & UX Design Lead
Jerry brings over 12 years of violin experience practiced through his national level competitions, music theory knowledge, and principal position in the local youth orchestra. He leads user experience design and compiles the therapeutic music library with his understanding of music's therapeutic uses in treating mental disorders to ensure that each composition aligns with evidence-based music therapy principles.
Leo Chen: Technology & AI Lead
Leo is a full-stack developer and competitive pianist passionate about applying artificial intelligence for social impact. He architected and built the entire MusicASD platform, including the AI personalization engine, real-time engagement tracking, and cloud infrastructure.
Our journey began through church volunteering with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Witnessing our family friends drive hours for brief therapy sessions while others are unable to afford treatment inspired our determination to build a solution that bridges this gap.
One of us plays piano and understands music's healing power. The other codes and sees technology's potential. Together, we built MusicASD, bringing personalized music therapy home.
